Corie Len Walker
Corie Len Walker is a graduate from the University of Memphis Fine Arts Program, where she concentrated in Studio Arts with a minor in Art History. Her work explores the experience of being human. Using a variety of materials such as personal treasures, recycling products, or objects from nature; she constructs pieces from her personal narrative that strives for a “collective intimacy” with the audience.
“I like the process of taking fragmented, raw, and ugly parts that when brought together create a new, whole that is quite moving and beautiful.”
Her artwork has been featured in shows by the University of Memphis Museum, Crosstown Arts, and at the local house-gallery in Memphis, GLITCH.
Also, the Communication and Fine Arts Building at the University of Memphis permanently houses her original "Cloud Eye" installation (2013-2014).
